「R6S」の大幅アップデートは6月10日23：00に開始。終了次第「レインボーシックス シージ エックス」として生まれ変わる

　ユービーアイソフトは本日（2025年6月10日）23：00に，「レインボーシックス シージ」の大型アップデートメンテナンスを開始し，終了次第「レインボーシックス シージ エックス」（PC / PS5 / Xbox Series X|S / PS4 / Xbox One）としてサービスを開始する予定だ。

　レインボーシックス シージ エックスでは，基本プレイ無料化や，攻守一体の新モード「デュアルフロント」の追加，グラフィックスやオーディオまわりの改善など，多くの変更が実施される。

　無料で遊べるのは，クイックプレイやアンランクなどの遊びやすいモードが対象で，オペレーターについてはゲームを進めていくにつれアンロックできる仕組みだ。より多くのオペレーターをアンロックしたり，ランクモードに参加したりするには，別途プレミアムエディションの購入が必要になる。
　なお，すでにレインボーシックス シージを遊んでいるプレイヤーは，解除したすべてのコンテンツが引き継がれ，対戦モードにアクセスするために新しく何かを購入する必要はないとのこと。
